Business Model

Sources of Support

Post45 Journal is a diamond open-access publication: it charges no fees to authors or readers. Publishing operations are supported by volunteer scholarly labor, paid editorial labor by graduate students, financial and administrative support from an institutional sponsor, Emory University, and occasional donations.

Advertising

Post45 does not accept advertising of any kind or sell reader or author data.

Editorial Independence

Business considerations and institutional support do not influence editorial decisions. Editorial decisions are based solely on evaluations of scholarly merit and journal fit.

Editorial Policies

These policies have been adapted from guides by the Directory of Open Access Journals and the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association. We use Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices to guide editorial policies and processes.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest. Editors and reviewers with a conflict recuse themselves from the affected decision. We use the COPE definition:
any personal, financial, non-financial, or professional influences that interfere with — or could reasonably be perceived as interfering with — the full and objective presentation, peer review, decision making, or publication of research papers submitted to the journal.

Complaints and Appeals

Concerns about editorial processes (e.g. undisclosed conflicts of interest or reviewer misconduct) may be sent to journal@post45.org and will be investigated by an editor or board member not involved with the review process. Routine editorial decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

Research Misconduct

Allegations of research misconduct — including plagiarism, source fabrication, citation manipulation, and duplicate publication — are handled according to the relevant COPE flowcharts. Confirmed misconduct in a submitted manuscript will result in rejection; confirmed misconduct in a published article will result in correction or retraction as appropriate.

Corrections and Retractions

Post45 Journal follows COPE retraction guidelines. Correction and retraction notices are prominently linked from the original article, which remains available online with a clear notice of its status.
